Berliner Festspiele

The Berliner Festspiele organise various festivals and art exhibitions, concerts, dance and theatre performances, readings, lectures, discussions and much more throughout the year. In addition to its two own venues – Gropius Bau and Haus der Berliner Festspiele – the programme is presented at other locations and venues in Berlin.

Recurring festivals such as MaerzMusik, Theatertreffen, Musikfest Berlin, Jazzfest Berlin and the Treffen junge Szene, together with the exhibitions and formats of the Gropius Bau and the programme of guest performances and events, especially in the field of dance, create diverse spaces for experiencing contemporary and modern art forms.

With a line-up that encompasses different artistic genres while focusing on dialogue and collaboration, the Berliner Festspiele see themselves as an open and interdisciplinary platform: They are a place of activity for artists, their distinctive works and the most diverse working methods and approaches, a forum for visitors, listeners, and spectators from all parts of the city and the country, with their different interests and expectations, and the setting for a shared examination of timeless and contemporary questions that occupy every individual in one way or another and challenge society around the world more than ever.
