Application process & FAQ

We appreciate your interest and aim to make the application process as transparent as possible. Here you will find the application process explained step by step as well as answers to frequently asked questions.

Application process

1. Requirements

We are looking for dedicated employees who bring in new ideas, help shape processes and meet our various professional demands. In addition to professional qualifications, we consider essential competencies such as teamwork, self-reflection, resilience and diversity sensitivity.

Due to time constraints, we reserve the right not to process unsolicited applications. We therefore recommend applying exclusively for advertised positions. You can find all current vacancies here.

2. Online applications

Apply online via our job portal and upload your documents and contact details in the input screen via the “APPLY ONLINE” button. As soon as you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation of receipt. We will need your CV, cover letter, certificates and work references, if available. For other requirements, please refer to the respective posts in the job portal. In the case of internships, for example, we ask for valid (matriculation) certificates, which must be submitted for legal reasons.

If you have a disability, it’s up to you how much information you share on this in your application documents. By addressing the issue of “proof” (valid residence permit, matriculation certificate, indication of a severe disability, etc.), we want to make sure in your interest that we don’t overlook any information when looking through your application.

Please note that the maximum file size is 25 MB. To facilitate keeping better track and viewing, we recommended that you upload a merged file.

3. Selection process

Our human resources staff review your application in a selection process and compare it with the respective requirements profile of the position. Experience has shown that the pre-selection and examination of the documents can take some time. We therefore ask for your patience.

4. Interview

If your documents meet the professional requirements and fit the profile, we will invite you to an interview, which will take the form of a structured conversation. During the interview, we want to get to know each other better and learn more about your skills and qualifications. You will also receive further information about the position and, of course, have the same opportunity to ask questions.

5. Conclusion of the application process

After the interview, we will contact you to inform you of the result of the application process. If you are accepted, we will get in touch with you personally.

6. Onboarding

In order to support you as best as possible when you start work, you will be assisted by experienced colleagues. As your personal contacts, they will introduce you to the general work processes and will be available to answer any questions you may have.

KBB pays according to the public service pay scale TVöD Bund. The respective grouping into a pay grade is based on the required job description of the advertised position. The relevant professional experience of the applicant determines the experience level in the specified pay group.
